The hall is approached down a long driveway to a courtyard through the Truimphal Arch. The entrance hall is imposing and grand with iconic polasters, raised wall panels, a naive style painting of st John de Astley, a beautiful stone fireplace and an awe inspiring 19th century coved ceiling. The plasterwork throughout the house is outstanding and in particular in the saloon where swags, ribbons, wreaths, fruit and flowers are just some of the work attributed to Italian stuccoist Guiseppe Artari. This is the largest and finest room in the hall, lit by three arched windows which open on to a balcony with steps to the terrace. The views from here are over the grounds, the lakes and countryside beyond. These two rooms are complimented by the music room with its Gibbs designed chimney piece, the Chinese bedroom suite, the large drawing rooms and blue dining room beyond the library which adjoins the ballroom with its coved and compartmental ceiling. All these rooms have exquisite features including fine plasterwork, individual chimney pieces and windows through which the beautiful views can be enjoyed.
